The day is warm, sunny, nearly perfect. The sound of the bustling traffic nearby is muted by the rustling leaves from the breeze coming in from the river.
Anxiously waiting for the bride and groom to arrive, I take in the beauty of the area. The decor is being set up, a few family members are trickling in… and then the bride arrives. She’s laughing- which sets the tone for the day. Laughter comes easily to her and it makes the happiness contagious. It’s clear she’s excited for this long awaited day- and if there’s nerves, she doesn’t show it.
She’s friendly, sweet, and funny- I can tell it’s going to be a fun day.
The groom waits on the dock with a blindfold, he’s calm, cool, collected- waiting patiently for his bride for their first look. Standing next to the water, a beautiful and serene place for such a moment, the waves lap the dock. While reading their vows, her letter blows into the water- but somehow she’s already prepared with her paper that’s covered in wax! Not a worry in the world, they easily shrug it off and embrace the moment in laughter and humor.
The ceremony is celebrated with all their family and friends and the joy is clear, humor is abound, and love is ever present. And to end the wedding? A live Mariachi Band. Definitely an epic end for a beautiful ceremony, and the perfect way to keep guests entertained during cocktail hour.
After the couple cut the cake, they took the time to cut the entire cake and serve their guests- an absolutely amazing gesture of kindness and consideration and putting the guests first.
The night was capped off with a choreographed dance of the couple, a hyped bunch who made “jump around” an anthem worth jumping to, a father/daughter polka dance, a bouquet toss, and more dancing. The perfect end, to the perfect day.
